Apple iOS vs. Android Phone Systems
« on: December 05, 2010, 10:10:24 pm »
If you're reading this then 99% of you know the difference between these two OS' for smartphones. Im in the market for a new phone and will almost certainly be going for an I-Phone(mainly because Im pretty much an Apple ****), but I'm interested to hear different takes on these systems.

Various arguments Ive heard is that the Android OS is more user friendly, although im not sure how much more simpler you could get after iOS4.

Opinions? Thoughts? Hatred for Steve Jobs? Sound off

Well, on the HTC Desire, GameString (a modding site) they managed to make an interface that supported World of Warcraft on the Smartphone, their looking to follow-up on this technique for other persons within the market.

how bout the windows 7 phones? the OS system is based on the Zune HD and I have the HD and used the phone, they're pretty damn nice, esp the live tiles.

i'm definitely an android fan.  right now i have the htc hero, but i'm thinking of getting the htc evo or the samsung epic.  probably evo.  it's all about open source!  i've played around on my friends' iphones though, and i just don't really dig them.  i think the interface is kind of ugly and boring.  that said, iphones generally seem to run a little bit smoother than my hero, but then again, i have flash :-)

The HTC  Evo is a real beauty but carries a steep price tag(not unlike the I phone). Not sure why but not having flash isnt a huge deal to me considering I usually have my laptop with me whenever I need it anyways.

yeah i hear you about the price tag - BUT! i bought the best buy service plan for my hero, and it's in the shop, so chances are i'm getting a new phone.  if they can't repair it (which is what i expect to happen), then i get all $600 retail from the hero to apply to a new phone, PLUS i'm eligible for an upgrade right now anyway.  add all that up and i'm looking at a mostly free EVO.  rad.as for flash, i haven't seen the need for a laptop so i haven't bought one - i have a computer at my desk at work, i have a computer at my house,  my extra curriculars don't afford me the time/space to rock a laptop (i suppose i could set one on top of my snare drum).  so in that regard, my smart phone provides the substitute for the basic functionality of a laptop, which means that having flash is pretty sweet  :)

See in that respect I can totally understand. Me being a college student, Im sporting the laptop(soon to be macbook) everywhere thanks to homework.

The Evo is pretty nifty though. Like I said only the price tag annoys me and the slightly large screen I feel could become a Transformer at any moment.
