Favorite headphones/Suggestions
« on: December 05, 2010, 06:51:11 pm »
I'm in some dire need of new headphones! Like I said on the Christmas list post, I cannot wait to get Klipsch One headphones, they are amazing.

Any suggestions for headphones? What's your favorite brand?  :D

Skullcandy are good at an affordable price but ive used better personally, although I will say I do like their earbuds as well as Phillips in-ear.

Dre's Beats are nice but insanely overpriced.

Never used Klipsch but I am a fan of Sony's Studio Headphones which go for about $30 or so. Excellent for playing music with as it comes with a 1/4 inch adapter for an amplifier.

I have Skullcandys and they are ok  :-\ one thing that was really cool was I felt a lump on my headphones and there was a pocket (this was at least 9 months after getting them) and I opened the pocket to find a bottle opener! hahahah That was pretty cool

The reason I know Klipsch are so good is because I went to the Apple store and they used those to demo their iPods. Sounds so AMAZING

And about Beats, they are way over priced, but could be the best I've heard.

I have Skull Candy ear buds and they work well enough. Not the best I've heard though. I also have Skull Candy Headphones as well but those aren't the best version of there's so they tend to hurt my head and leave me with a headache.

Beats are definitely among the best I have heard. They leave Skull Candy in the dust. Its a shame they are so over priced. There has got to be somewhere you can find them for a steal.

Quibids has been known to have top notch products such as Beats mega cheap. It's like a more pricey and classier version of Ebay.

Anything the Apple store has or supports I honestly would trust. They dont mess around, even if all their crap is overpriced.

Best headphones ever would have to be Astros - There $200+ but their bad ass, specially made for gaming/music (just like turtlebeech)

Dude Astros all come with the mike part to it, and I would love to spend that money if I was a big gamer. Klipsch One's are 150 and sounds perfect.

i got the skullcandy's agents and double agents, they're nice but they can get insanely loud which is a positive and negative.

if you're going for in-ear, go for the klipsch s5 which is semi-affordable at $85, and is WAY more comfy then Beats any day, beats are amazing but it wont be long until your ear canal is stretched and hurting.

it really depends on what you want, name a price range and headphone type.

Skullcandy is only good with the headphones. The earbud's quality is sort of dismal.

I use BOSE earbuds when listening and Skullcandy or BOSE headphones when recording or mixing. I recommend those. I'm pretty sure there are brands out there that can give near-quality sound to those as well.

Now when you saying "recording or mixing", what specifically do you mean? Just curious.

I only use Bose when doing on stage work or video production. Too expensive for me to buy on my own but I will admit they do give a pretty full sound when hooked up to a system in a building.

Recording commercials for radio and playing it back and mixing while DJing and mixing the recording.
