Alright so since I'm not good at really describing these things I'll just copy and paste something from Wikipedia.

"Steam is a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications platform developed by the Valve Corporation. It is used to distribute games and related media online, from small independent developers to larger software houses. Steam also has community features, automated game updates, and in-game voice and chat functionality."

If that isn't simple enough then I'll try to make it as dumbed down as possible. Steam is a program that is run by Valve that works as a chat client and means of purchasing games. There's a large number of games available for purchase on their store, and any game you get will be saved to your account.

I wanted to make a thread where people could give their Steam names if they have one so that people could get together and game it up if they want.  If you don't have Steam, you can download the client Here

My Steam name is Toastyjester, I have Left 4 Dead, L4D 2, Killing Floor, Garrys Mod, and a variety of other games, though I rarely actually play multiplayer. I guess you can add me if you want, I might occasionally accept an offer to game if I am in the right mood.
