A collier sheriff's affidavit provides this account:
The armed brothers burst into the home, demanding money.Visnich was alone because her husband george, who has since died, was in a nursing home with alzheimer's disease.
Dressed in black, their faces covered, one suspect pointed a gun at visnich's face and threatened to shoot. The 5foot3, 95pound woman was ordered into a room, which the robbers ransacked until she handed over envelopes with cash, previously hidden in a desk.
The robbers searched the house, then bound visnich's wrists behind her with twist ties, took her to a bathroom and shut the door.
She later freed herself and called 911.She wasn't able to specify what was stolen, but deputies found receipts for roughly $100, 000 in gold coins and found empty coin packages.
After the arrests, visnich said of her ordeal: "I prayed a lot and i wasn't scared. "
Investigators linked the family to the robbery by following up on a cadillac spotted in the neighborhood the same day.Taken from a crayton drive home the couple were housesitting, it was found on nearby ridge drive with a glockstyle air gun, a police scanner, clothing and latex gloves inside.
A crayton drive resident asked by the car's owner to return the vehicle to the house told deputies he discovered three men, including the caretaker, showering inside. When questioned, one of the men told the resident they took the car for a wash and battery check. After the resident replied that deputies wanted to speak to them about the car's contents, the men fled.
Inside the home, deputies found george visnich's pill bottle, empty bank envelopes, a knife, and a home depot bag with a receipt for twist ties and duct tape, among other items.
A notebook page listing visnich's address and pawn shop receipts for her jewelry were discovered inside the couple's truck.Other evidence includes the brothers' fingerprints and video of the couple and kids buying the ties and duct tape and depositing cash at a bank.

Since we're on the subject while at the gun range earlier this week i saw an elderly woman who i would guess to be in her 80's learning how to use and shoot a pistol, she wasn't a great shot but she was doing ok for someone brand new to firearms. So let this be a warning to all the thug and gangsta wanna be's the next time you decide to commit a home invasion on an elderly person, granny or gramps may end your criminal career in short order. My hats off to any elderly person or any person for that matter, who refuses to be a victim of these pos.
